MEET CAROL

Dr. Carol Tempel has devoted her professional career as an educator to the Charleston County School District. She knows the importance of education as a parent, teacher, curriculum specialist, assistant principal, principal, constituent board chair, high school charter board, and school improvement council member.

These experiences give her a unique understanding of both the strengths and weaknesses of our schools. Quite simply, there is no one more qualified to serve on the CCSD School Board.

Carol has proven herself as a staunch advocate for students, parents, teachers, and schools. South Carolina’s schools consistently rank at the bottom of the nation. Our children deserve better. Carol says NO to “minimally adequate” classrooms, schools, and districts.

She will strive relentlessly for nothing less than the best in public education for all students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Every child matters. Every classroom matters.

The school board needs educators as decision-makers. The stakes are too high. If we are to deliver the best for our students, we need school board members with the knowledge, passion, and experience to make it happen.

Carol will be relentless in her pursuit of quality education for our students, adequate compensation, training and support for our teachers, and open communication with parents.
